ICW Group Speaks at 2022 Anti-Fraud Alliance Conference

Staying consistent with ICW Group’s Special Investigations Unit’s aggressive stance on fraud and innovative fraud deterrent methods, I recently presented at the 2022 Anti-Fraud Alliance (AFA) Conference in Monterey, California. Conference attendees included insurance investigators, managers and directors, attorneys for the Department of Industrial Relations, county prosecutors and their criminal investigation teams, defense attorneys, and personnel investigating fraud and related matters.

For the presentation, I collaborated with convicted workers’ compensation attorney Sean O’Keefe to present “Tales from the Other Side.” In 2014, Sean pled guilty to selling clients to a surgeon for profit and had a part in helping create one of the country’s largest and most organized criminal healthcare fraud schemes. As a condition of his plea agreement and reform interests, he served time as a federal informant, assisting federal law enforcement in undercover stings to take down fraud syndicates.

Sean and I partnered to provide knowledge from an insider’s perspective on organized healthcare fraud schemes and how to prevent them from occurring in the future, which protects ICW Group customers from fraudulent or unnecessary payments.

The Anti-Fraud Alliance has a long and distinguished history as a premier association in the noble cause of fraud investigations and prosecutions.
