Hey Bartender….Make it a Double (Dip) – Part 1

Claiming to injure herself while lifting a 20-pound bag, this full-time worker said she was unable to work in any capacity, including attending to her household chores such as yard work. With symptoms lingering well beyond the expected timeframe, ICW Group’s Special Investigations Unit scheduled the worker for an in-person interview while also arranging for surveillance to be conducted to validate her claims. Surveillance quickly painted an entirely different picture, showing this worker actively employed as a bartender despite her statements to ICW Group asserting that she was not employed in any other form while collecting benefits for this claim.

While that lie alone was sufficient for law enforcement to be interested in the case, surveillance video also showed her to be more than capable of the household chores, including yard work!

The matter has been referred to law enforcement for prosecution consideration of this worker who attempted to double dip the system by being paid under a work comp claim while also being paid via an undisclosed job across town.
